The Portland Police Bureau Sunshine Division will open a second food pantry and clothing room facility on November 15, 2017, at 12436 SE Stark Street, Portland, OR 97233. The SE Stark location hours of operation will be Wednesday through Saturday 9:30am -- 11:30am and 12:30pm -- 3:30pm.

In response to the growing shift in poverty to the outer areas of East Portland, Sunshine Division will undergo the most significant, mission-related expansion in its 95-year history by making their no-cost food and clothing assistance programs more accessible to qualifying families and individuals in SE Portland.

Initial foundation and corporate funding partners of the program include: the Safeway Foundation through their HUNGERIS grant, Bank of America, Deacon Charitable Foundation, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Boeing Employee Community Fund, and Wells Fargo Bank. A number of individual donors have also made significant financial commitments to the SE program.

"The Safeway Foundation has been a long-time supporter of Sunshine Division. We could not be more thrilled with the fact that Southeast Portland will soon be benefiting from the wonderful services they provide. Throughout the year we support the Sunshine Division in many different ways, including financial support as well as food donations, and look forward to helping with continued growth at their new location." says Jill McGinnis, Director of Communications and Public Affairs for Safeway.

"We're excited to see the enthusiasm of our nonprofit, agency, and law enforcement partners as we've shared our plans to offer more accessible food and clothing assistance to outer SE Portland. We're committed to continuing these services at our N. Thompson location in addition to the SE Stark location." said Sunshine Division's Executive Director, Kyle Camberg. "We have a strategic two-year funding plan and want to recognize this expansion is only possible through the generosity and continued commitment of our donors and partners."
"Bank of America is a proud supporter of Sunshine Division's important work in getting meals and resources to those in-need. And in particular, we're pleased that our most recent grant was focused on getting food and resources to local veterans and their families. That's worthy of our investment, and we hope others will join us in supporting the cause," said Roger Hinshaw, Bank of America's Market President in Oregon and SW Washington.

The SE Stark location is anticipated to serve an additional 10,000 low-income families with children, seniors, veterans, and disabled individuals with food and clothing assistance in its initial 12 months of operation and extend the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct officers the ability to access services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
