I-84 is closed again EASTBOUND and WESTBOUND in eastern Oregon due to the haz-mat crash that occurred early this morning in the WB lanes at MP 233 near Meacham. The EASTBOUND freeway is closed between Exit 216 six miles east of Pendleton and Exit 256 in La Grande. The WESTBOUND freeway is closed between Exit 302 in Baker City and Exit 216 near Pendleton. Haz-mat crews are continuing to remove hazardous material from the area. The closure is expected to continue for several hours. BACKGROUND INFO: First interstate closure this morning enabled haz-mat team to investigate damage to truck, status of hazardous material and make plan for removal. This second closure is to facilitate safe removal of material onto transport vehicle. UPDATE
