OFFICERS ARREST BURGLARY SUSPECT IN PORTLAND'S CENTENNIAL NEIGHBORHOOD (PHOTO)

On Monday November 6, 2017, at 6:29 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a burglary in the 2800 block of Southeast 174th Avenue.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the victim of the burglary. The victim did not see the suspect; however, a next door neighbor was able to provide officers with surveillance video of the suspect. The surveillance video was provided to additional officers assisting with the search for the suspect.

The officers established a perimeter and searched the neighborhood for the suspect with a police K9 team. As officers searched the area, an officer sustained a minor injury. The officer was transported by an officer to an area hospital for medical treatment. The officer received medical treatment and is recovering from the injuries.

Officers continued to search the neighborhood and located the suspect in the 2700 block of Southeast 168th Avenue.

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Darriron K. Jackson. Jackson was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Theft in the Second Degree and a post prison supervision violation for a previous conviction for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
