On Sunday November 12, 2017, at 7:59 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 146th Avenue.

Officers and emergency medical responders arrived at the crash and found a 40-year-old male on the roadway. Emergency medical personnel determined the man was deceased.

Based on the information learned during the preliminary investigation, officers believe the pedestrian was on Southeast Stark Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling on Southeast Stark Street.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the crash location and is cooperating with investigators.

The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is responding to continue this investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division are also responding to assist with the investigation.

Southeast Stark Street will be closed between Southeast 143rd Ave and Southeast 148th Avenue for the next three to four hours.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the Portland Police Bureau non-emergency-line at 503-823-3333.

No additional information is expected to be released this evening regarding this crash.

November 12, 2017 -- Sheriff's detectives need the public's help to locate possible additional sex abuse victims following an arrest.

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, a Beaverton man turned himself into the Washington County jail in regards to a warrant for his arrest.

Several children disclosed that they had been sexually abused multiple times over a period of time by Shuddhodan Man Ranjit, 51, of Beaverton (booking photo inset). The abuse was reported to occur at his Taekwondo studio located at 8907 SW Canyon Road in Beaverton. Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Unit detectives investigated and found evidence which corroborated the sexual abuse.

On November 9, 2017, a Washington County grand jury indicted Mr. Ranjit on the following charges:

* Sexual Abuse I (twelve counts)
* Sexual Abuse II (three counts)

Shuddhodan Man Ranjit is currently lodged in the Washington County jail and is held on $750,000 bail.

Disaster responders with the local American Red Cross responded to a home fire disaster
November 12 2017, at approximately  3:30 p.m. in the 94000 block of Quarry Road in Gold Beach OR. This multi family fire affected one adult. The Red Cross provided resources to help address the immediate basic needs of those affected such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits with toiletry items, information about recovery services, and health and mental health services. Additional information about this incident, if available, may be obtained from the local first responding agency/fire department.
The Red Cross in Oregon and Southwest Washington (the Cascades Region) helps an average
of three families affected by disasters, like home fires, every day. The Red Cross advocates
emergency preparedness and offers the installation of free smoke alarms in our community.

The suspect, who is in custody, has been identified as Miguel Angel Avila Espinal, age 17 from Milwaukie, OR.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit (HVCU) along with the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team are investigating a homicide that occurred in Oak Grove, OR.

At 7:50 pm on November 11, 2017, Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance on McLoughlin Blvd near SE Concord Rd in Oak Grove, OR. Dispatch advised there were additional calls that reported the disturbance had escalated to a shooting.

When deputies arrived they found a male deceased on the ground near that location and the suspect had fled the scene. There were several witnesses to the incident.

Due to this incident and the ongoing criminal investigation, McLoughlin Blvd in both directions will be closed at SE Concord Rd. Southbound traffic is closed at SE Risley Ave. Hwy 99E is expected to be closed for several hours.

Media staging area is at the Walmart located at 15600 SE McLoughlin Blvd.

Along with deputies, Officers from Portland Police Bureau, Gladstone Police, and Oregon City Police Departments also responded to the scene.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Detectives were called to the scene along with the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, Clackamas County Medical Examiner and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigators. Investigators will be processing the scene and detectives are currently interviewing several witnesses.
