Suspect Arrested After Stabbing in Portland's Kenton Neighborhood

SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER STABBING IN PORTLAND'S KENTON NEIGHBORHOOD

On Tuesday November 14, 2017, at 3:39 p.m., North Precinct and Transit Division officers responded to the Denver Avenue Transit Station, located at 8399 North Interstate Avenue, regarding the report of a stabbing.

As officers responded to the area they learned there was a fight on the TriMet MAX train and the victim was stabbed during the fight. Officers arrived on scene and provided emergency first aid to the adult male victim. Emergency medical responders arrived and provided additional medical aid and transported the victim to an area hospital by ambulance with what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Based on information learned during the preliminary investigation, officers located, contacted and detained an adult male suspect on a TriMet MAX train at the Rosa Parks Transit Station, located at 6598 North Interstate Avenue.

Members of the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Assault Detail and Forensic Evidence Division will assist with this investigation.

Officers continue to investigate this incident and ask anyone with information to contact the Portland Police Bureau non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.

Based on information learned in the investigation, there is not believed to be a danger to the community.
