Ryan Grimaldi, a Hillsboro firefighter/paramedic for 6 years died while on a hunting trip on Friday, November 3, in the mountains of Morrow County Oregon. A falling tree caused his death.

To honor their fellow firefighter, members of the Hillsboro Fire Department will be traveling to the town of Heppner on Sunday to escort his body back to Tualatin. Additionally, members are wearing mourning bands over their badges through the day of his memorial service.

Operation Chief Scott Magers said, "Ryan was an outstanding firefighter and member of the Hillsboro Fire Department family. Ryan served the department and the community well. He will be greatly missed."

Funeral services are pending at this time.
