The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) is investigating a shooting in unincorporated Milwaukie.

At about 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017, Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 7400 block of SE Michael Dr which is an unincorporated area of Milwaukie in Clackamas County.

Upon arrival, deputies found one, 33 year old male victim of a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported by AMR to OHSU for medical treatment.

CCSO Detectives responded to the scene to process the scene, evidence, and witness statements.

No names of any involved parties will be released at this time as this is an active investigation.

OFFICERS INVESTIGATE STABBING IN DOWNTOWN PORTLAND THURSDAY EVENING

On Thursday November 9, 2017, at 8:08 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing near the intersection of Southwest College Street and Southwest 6th Avenue.

When officers arrived they located a 28-year-old male victim with what was believed to be a non-life-threatening minor injury. Emergency medical personnel provided medical aid and transported the victim by ambulance to an area hospital.

During the investigation, officers learned the suspect and victim were involved in a disturbance during which the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife. While canvassing the area, officers located and seized a knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. As officers continued the investigation they identified the suspect and learned his last known location. Based on this information, officers believed the suspect was inside an apartment building located in the 1900 block of Southwest 5th Avenue. Officers responded to the location and took the suspect into custody.

Members of the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Assault Detail responded to assist with the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have also responded to assist.

Detectives continue to investigate this case. The suspect will not be identified until he is lodged at the Multnomah County Jail.

NWS Portland is coming to Cascade Locks to help recruit and train a stable of local weather volunteers in Hood River and eastern Multnomah County.

Trained Weather Spotters that witness irregular weather events can call into NWS to report unusual conditions where they live.

This would be extremely useful for monitoring changing conditions in the Eagle Creek Burn Area through winter and as snow melts in spring.

Hood River County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Management and Multnomah County are teaming up to host this Gorge community training to help enhance weather warning accuracy.
The training is 6-7:30pm on Wed. November 29 at Cascade Locks Fire Station, 25 Wa Na Pa St, Cascade Locks.

All Hood River residents are welcome to attend this free training -- particularly those in or near the Eagle Creek Burn Area. Also residents that live in winter weather impact areas (i.e. on or near slopes, landslide or rockfall risk areas, flood zones,) under reported zones, citizens that regularly commute through the Gorge or that have good views of changing weather and Gorge hillsides at home or work.

The training will cover:
- Rainfall reporting
- Cloud identification
- Types of severe weather
- Measuring snow and wind
- NWS weather terminology
- Criteria for calling in reports

The Oregon State Medical Examiner Determined Whitemore died of homicidal violence caused by a sharp force injury.

On Tuesday November 7, 2017, at 11:24 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the area of Southeast 2nd Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street.

When officers and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene they located an adult male lying on the ground. A large amount of blood was observed around the man as emergency responders approached. Medical personnel provided the victim medical aid and transported him by ambulance to an area hospital where died of his injuries.

Based on preliminary information, investigators believe the victim and the suspect were involved in a fight on Southeast Morrison Street east of Southeast Water Avenue. During the fight the victim sustained serious injuries but was able to walk to Southeast 2nd Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street, where he fell to the ground. Community members observed the victim on the ground and called 9-1-1.

Officers continue to search for the suspect in this incident.

Detectives with the Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Detail and criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division are responding to assist with this death investigation.

A member of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy in the coming days to attempt to identify a cause of death. The cause of death and identity of the victim will not be released until after the autopsy and the next of kin have been notified.

This investigation is in its early stages and there is no additional information available at this time. Additional information will be provided through updates to this release when available.

The PIO is not responding to the scen of this investigation at this time.

SUSPECTED ARRESTED FOR NOVEMBER 4TH SHOOTING (PHOTO)

This morning 43-year-old Jahi K Moody was arrested in connection with a shooting that was reported on Saturday, November 4 2017.

This investigation started on November 4, 2017, at 1:03 p.m., when East precinct officers responded to multiple people calling 9-1-1 about gunfire in the area of the 11300 block Northeast Knott Street.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted several witnesses. The witnesses informed officers that two vehicles were speeding through the neighborhood. According to witnesses an occupant of one of the speeding cars shot at the other vehicle.

A search of the area was conducted and evidence of gunfire was located, including one home that was struck by gunfire. Shortly after officers responded to the scene and started the investigation, the person believed to be the intended target was contacted. While contacting the victim, officers located multiple bullet strikes to the victim's vehicle, but no one in the vehicle was injured.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operation Division's Gang Enforcement Team (GET) responded to assist with the investigation. Detectives continued to investigate this shooting and believed Moody was a suspect in the shooting.

Early this morning the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) served a search warrant at a residence in the 11700 block of Northeast Street. As the warrant was being served, Moody was taken into custody. Investigators searched the location and located a handgun and other firearm related items.

Moody was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Attempt Murder, Attempt Assault in the First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

HILLSBORO FIRE BURN-TO-LEARN RESCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 14

On Tuesday, November 14, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue will conduct a training house burn at 115 NE 30th Avenue in Hillsboro. This exercise previously scheduled for Saturday, November 4 was canceled due to the death of off duty Hillsboro firefighter Ryan Grimaldi on November 3rd.

The Burn-to-Learn exercise will give valuable live-fire training in a residential structure to Hillsboro's newly-hired firefighter recruits, as well as the department's career and volunteer firefighters.

The Burn-to-Learn exercise will begin at 9am when Hillsboro Fire & Rescue training officers set small fires, one at a time, inside the house. Training officers will then accompany firefighters inside to extinguish the fires. The drill will be supervised by experienced, career firefighters and will adhere to strict safety guidelines. Firefighters have ensured that all that remains in the home is normal, non-hazardous building materials. Once the interior training is completed, the house will be allowed to burn in a controlled and safe manner. There will be teams of firefighters at the scene from beginning until all flames are extinguished.

Motorists can expect that traffic on E Main Street from NE 28th Avenue to NE 32nd Avenue will be slowed from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Traffic will be blocked from entering NE 30th Avenue from E Main Street.

The home used in this training exercise was donated by the owner to make way for future construction on the property.

On Thursday November 9, 2017, at 6:17 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of gunfire in the 8800 block of Southwest Hazeltine Street.
