DEATH INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN FOREST PARK

On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 9:01 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to an area near the Pittock Mansion, located at 3229 NW Pittock Drive, after two deceased people were located.

Members of Multnomah County Search and Rescue and Mountain Wave Search and Rescue began searching in Forest Park on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.

Officers arrived in the area and met with Search and Rescue personnel. Officers learned the deceased individuals were located near the intersection of the Wildwood Trail and the Upper MacLeay Trail.

The Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide and Missing Persons Details have responded to the location to conduct a death investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have also responded to the location to assist with this investigation.

Members of the the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office will also assist with this investigation and work to confirm the identities of the deceased individuals and cause of death.

Interested Media should stage on Northwest Pittock Drive prior to the Pittock Mansion parking lot. There will be a press briefing at 1:00 p.m. near the main parking lot for the Pittock Mansion.
