UPDATE - DEATH INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN SOUTHEAST PORTLAND AFTER REPORTED SHOOTING

Homicide detectives have cleared the scene and are continuing to investigate the circumstances of last night's shooting. Later today, the Oregon State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on the 52-year-old male victim. The victim's name will be released after the autopsy is complete and family has been notified of the death.

At this point, there is no further information that can be released. Based on the investigation thus far, there does not appear to be an immediate danger to the neighborhood.

On Friday November 10, 2017, at approximately 11:07 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a residence in the 8100 block of Southeast Glenwood Street on the report of gunfire that occurred approximately 15 minutes prior to the 9-1-1 call.

Officers arrived in the area and located one person deceased near a residence. No suspects were located at the scene and officers are in the early stages of an investigation.

Homicide detectives, Criminalists, and Oregon State Medical Examiner are responding to the scene to conduct an investigation into the death.

No additional details are expected to be released this evening.
